Position Description
Chartis is seeking to build a world-class science organization. Its mission is to establish a research & development function to influence strategy and operations through fact based decision making, and to improve lives and safety through the application of insurance.
Position Summary:
As the Project Manager you will lead several defined projects in the Science space. In addition, you will design efforts from problem identification through analyses, and implementation.
Organization Structure and Interface:
This position will report to the Head of Science, Delivery. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to better understand current processes and meet the business' objectives.
Performance Objectives:
The Project Manager, Science, will provide critical support to the Head of Science Delivery in achieving the following objectives:
. Structured and professional project management of defined initiatives with the Science teams. In particular, initiatives in Strategic analytics.
. Maintain all project management aspects of the various initiatives and projects, including (among others), project charter, timelines, milestones, risks, and status reports.
. Facilitate the development of the Science Strategic Plan, including objectives and strategic initiatives.
. Design the critical processes that will be identified, in particular where a significant degree of change is expected. For example, process for ideation and prioritization of opportunities.
. Design the future state and current state of various projects and processes, define road map to implementation, and monitor implementation progress.
. Ensure programs are prioritized and that throw-away spend is minimized. Work closely with the PMO office and provide input to the IDB meetings.
. Flag any risks, issues and concerns.
Position Requirements
. Proven track record of managing projects and coordinating among various stakeholders
. Proficiency with project management software's, e.g. Microsoft Project
. Experience with change-management aspects of projects
. Process understanding
Business Architecture Design:
. Ability to analyze process and document them in a professional way
. Proficiency with process design softwares, e.g. IBM Web-sphere Business Modeler or Blue Print
General:
. Working experience within AIG/Chartis; other insurance or financial-services industry experience
. University degree in the field of business, information systems, project management or related areas
. Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred Skills and Experiences
. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma or equivalent designations
. Degree in Business Administration, Management of Information Systems, Project Management or equivalent degrees
. Experience of working as a consultant, preferably with a top advisory firm

. Sense of ownership and accountability
. Integrity, dependability and a positive professional attitude
. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and make program adjustments accordingly
. Capable of engaging senior stakeholders across the organization
