Excellent opportunity to join the team at our ITHACA MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN ON THE COMMONS! We seek a dynamic sales professional to join our team!

Our new full-service hotel, the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons, offers 159 guest rooms, 2,300 sq feet of modern meeting space, as well as an indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar. The ideal SALES MANAGER candidate will have proven experience with outside/direct sales, developing leads and maintaining accounts, and be driven to grow accounts and revenues. As Sales Manager you'll focus on corporate and catering business, create and finalize BEOs and contracts, and maintain customer contact throughout the sales process to ensure successful execution of guest events.

The ideal SALES MANAGER candidate will have proven experience with outside/direct sales, developing leads and maintaining accounts, and be driven to grow accounts and revenues.
Major Responsiblities:
* Develop and foster business through direct sales.
* Source and develop potential accounts update and maintain all forms of account files.
* Generate top-line revenue to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
* Cultivate and source leads through cold calls, telemarketing, direct sales, sales blitzes, National Sales Office, networking, and other sources.
* Qualify in-house guests by attending hotel social events, etc.
* Complete weekly sales reports.
* Communicate to and coordinate with other hotel departments and personnel all sales information necessary for professional execution of commitments.
* Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with the marketing plan to achieve high occupancies and ADR, while ensuring high guest satisfaction.
* Be readily available & approachable for all team members and hotel guests.
* Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings, training seminars, and other meetings as requested by the DOSM.
Job Requirements:
* Outside/direct sales experience required. Sales or catering experience in a branded hotel preferred.
* Able to use advanced computer systems (client tracking, inventory control, forecasting tools.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be organized, detail minded, and able to work independently.
* Able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, holidays and weekends
