What you’ll be doing...
In VZ Wireless Customer Care IT, we are transforming our IT systems and teams to work in an agile fashion to deliver speed to market products in DevOps model embracing Agile mindset.
You will be working with a global IT team comprising of widely distributed teammates. You will work on the latest technologies leveraging Agile and DevOps models of delivery. You will use DevOps Tools and methodologies to find ways to meet our customer’s high expectations and dynamic needs making it easy for them to partner with us.
You will be working regularly on multiple small to large-size projects with internal and external IT partners on custom data solutions for Verizon Wireless Customer Service Organizations. You will be working with business-impacting information to drive high customer and employee satisfaction. Using Agile methodologies and work with stakeholders including internal team leadership, business partners and IT peers to maintain communication and alignment.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Solid grasp of the best practices in enterprise-class software development, agile methodology, full project life cycle. Experience in Agile/Scrum development.
Solid working experience using advanced development patterns and component-based architecture such as Micro Services and API/Service development.
Understanding and working with DevOps tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, GIT/BitBucket, Docker etc.
Database design and data modeling fine tuning the performance of the database queries and optimize system resources.
Experience with Microsoft Stack development: .NET, MVC, C#, VB, Web API.
Experience working in cloud environment.
Experience in AWS managing EC2 and RDS preferred.
Enterprise level experience with mobile development/responsive design using Bootstrap framework.
.NET Web API experience.
Strong experience with rapid development techniques.
Experience with responsive design, mobile first, technology.
In depth knowledge of information systems concepts.
Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt and learn new development processes and/or methodologies.
Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet project deadlines.
Ability to work through issues independently.
Customer Service knowledge.
Experience developing database objects in multiple technologies a plus.
Preferred open source DB experience (mySQL, Postgresql, Cassandra).
