I am a New York City based Jazz singer and have been teaching singing for over 2 decades and performing for longer. My teaching methods often bring about fast and dramatic results!
I have many tools to offer that build the confidence so necessary for singers. Some areas of focus include whole body breathing, how to warm-up, vocal technique, ear training, musicianship skills, performance skills & singing the songs you love. Vocal exercises focus on opening and freeing the voice, as you become more aware of resonance areas, tuning up (where are those pitches, really?)strength, range and much more. Lessons are individualized to cater to specific needs. I often accompany my students on piano as they work on making songs their own.
For those students who are interested singing jazz we delve into to world of free improvisation and scat singing, and creating a solo.
I work with singers of all levels and genres of music with the exception of classical.
I offer performance opportunities to my students. Please visit my website: www.dorilevine.com

Do you sing Rock, Metal, Pop, Punk but don't want to go to a vocal coach with an Opera, Jazz or a Musical Theater background? Are you a Classically trained singer looking to do contemporary music and having trouble transitioning style? Are you a beginner or musician and don't know where to start to learn how to sing?

Don't be mislead by voice teachers or coaches touting their degrees in "Music". That doesn't qualify them to teach vocal technique! Learn from a professional not only out there still performing, but an expert in the field of vocal science and an innovator in contemporary singing techniques.

My name is Kevin Richards and I've been a professional musician for 25 years. I've sang to over 80,000 people in my career. I'm also the author and creator of the "Breaking the Chains" CD Vocal program sold in 90 countries worldwide. I help singers from all genres and backgrounds learn new, cutting edge singing techniques. Unlike other teachers, I don't want to change your style - I want you to sound like you - only better!

* Extend Your Range by an Octave
* Eliminate Your Break - no more cracks or breaks between notes
* Increase Your Power - Get Boomy! deliver every song with conviction & presence
* Develop Stamina - sing for hours without losing your voice

Don't be content to just be a great singer - Become a great performer.

I highly recommend John to beginners, and his depth of knowledge would be great for practiced guitarists!"
    -Bob C.

    -Brandon W.

“All the printed chord charts and explanations you gave me are really helpful, I am starting to understand some of the theory that you talked about in class, it's kind of awesome.”
