This is our agenda for the day:

• fundamentals of jazz theory
Jazz theory is very important. We'll look at some basic ideas that we can use right away. These include reading the chord symbols and understanding how chord options are used.

• basic jazz piano voicings
The voicings are essential for all jazz pianists because that's what you need to accompany yourself and others.

• basics of improvisation
We'll look at some basic improvisation techniques such as using the chord tones and scales. We will also look at some basic jazz rhythmic and phrasing used in jazz improvisation.

• 12-bar blues
Many jazz musicians say that if you can play the blues, you can play everything! Easy, but at the same time not so easy, blues is one of the pillars of jazz. We will learn the steps to the mastery of playing the blues.

• lots of playing
Yup, whatever we'll learn, we'll apply and integrate right away! Obviously, as we go, there will be many questions that will pop up which we will answer as we go!

Lessons For Children
Lessons for children involves finding the music that excites and inspires them, while teaching them the skills they need in order to progress at the instrument. It is important for a student to make progress, and feel good about the progress they make.

A typical lesson involves weekly assignments in a lesson and theory book, supplemental games and activities for ear training and note reading, and learning a diverse repertoire of songs. We teach a curriculum of music that runs the gamut from Bach and Beethoven to Gershwin, Queen, Radiohead, and Katy Perry. Lessons involve finding music that the student relates to and enjoys, while also exposing them to new music they may never have heard before.

Lessons for Adults
Adult lessons focus on the interests and objectives of the student. Lessons can be customize to fit your schedule and your goals. Some adult students may be honing their craft in order to perform publicly, while others are looking for a fun and creative hobby. Your schedule is busy, and we are sensitive to the value of your time. Many adult students have bad memories of strict piano teachers and rulers across the knuckles. Our teachers are not like that at all, they are very patient and never get angry.

A typical lesson involves determining what you want to get out of your piano playing experience, and finding fun and creative ways to get you there. Many adult students rediscover their love for classical music, while others explore new musical realms in jazz, rock, and composition. Any musical avenue is fair game. We also teach synthesizers, electronic music, sampling, music production, and remixing.

If you have been singing or even taking lessons for a while and feel like you're going nowhere, let me tell you that it's not supposed to be that way! When singing, you should feel liberated and free, not strained and inflexible. Even worse, if you have been taking lessons and not seeing progress, something is not right. When taking lessons, you should hear progress soon and you should be taught what exactly is happening with your voice when you use it. This is what this class is about, about training your voice to be free and educating you about how your voice works. Now is the time to get rid of those breaks, unconnected registers, limits and inflexibility! We'll work as needed on different areas of your vocal technique, rotating topics such as chest voice, head voice, mixed voice, different resonators, connectivity, flexibility, range expansion and vibrato.

This is how the whole thing works:
Once you sign up, you will receive an information package as well as scales for your daily vocal workout. Then you just come to the class to learn about your voice, to explore it and to work out the different parts of it, thus improving your overall vocal performance. While vocal technique is a life-long commitment for anyone who is serious about their singing, the goal of this subscription is to educate you until you become your own teacher, until you develop an even voice through all your registers and until you know how to use your voice in a healthy and efficient manner. Sound good to you? Always remember: good vocal technique enables you to sing any musical style at a world-class level!

Jazz Piano Interactive Small Group Launch Date, Join Today!

So you've been tampering with piano for a while? Or you might have played classical or been looking at some YouTube videos, jazzy classically written arrangements and trying to figure out how to play jazz, or how to sound "jazzier"? There's a lot of great information on the Internet and a million books and tutorials and you don't know where to start or what kind of plan should you make to get it together, so to speak. This is where Jazz Piano subscription comes in! What we'll do here is learn the basics of jazz piano. That includes learning the basics of jazz theory so you can apply it right away, beautiful way to play chords (voicings), improvisation and rhythmical concepts, bass lines and grooves as well as the must-know jazz standards such as "Autumn Leaves" and the jazz blues. This is not your typical class, this is the ultimate practical interactive training session. This concept is a lot more effective than the traditional way of learning because it applies and integrates the new information in a playing situation. And in jazz and other non-classical music styles you can learn many things only by jumping into that "dreaded icy water" and starting to play right away.

This is how the whole thing works:
You sign-up and we will talk with you about what you already know, what you have learned and determine where you are musically. Then we will send you the information-only package that includes all you need to know to take part in the class. When you come to the class, even if you only read through the initial material, you will be able to follow and to sit in and play. No need to feel intimidated or overwhelmed: we will do exercises to apply the information and then move on to playing where we will integrate the information in a playing situation. While it might feel scary the first time, you will easily pick it up because we will address your needs at your level. At the same time you will be able to learn from others in the class. Sound exciting? You bet!

Have you always wanted to learn how to play piano but never had time? Maybe you are unsure if this is the new hobby you would like to pick up? Check out this beginners course! It's going to give you the basic information you need to start learning piano either by yourself or with a teacher. For such a beginner crash course you do not even need to own a piano or an e-piano! So, feel free to come and check out the Beginning Piano Weekend Crash Course.

This is our agenda for the day:

• we'll learn how the keyboard works
Yep, you'll be sure where all the notes are on the keyboard. You'll also know how to identify them on music paper and know what to play accordingly which leads us to the next point:

• we'll learn how to read music
Bring it on: we'll read music notation in both treble and bass clefs, as well as rhythm, by the end of the day!

• essentials of music theory which are useful for beginning piano
This will kick start your relationship with several fancy terms that are helpful for fast learning of any musical instrument.

• we'll also learn the basics of chord symbols
This comes along with the theory and reading of music notation. By the end of the day you'll have heard about major and minor triads and will know how to figure them out and also how to hear the difference.

• lots of playing
Yup, even if you think that you probably will not be able to play anything on day one, you will! In fact, you'll get to play all day, right away!

Are you an aspiring singer who wants to understand how your voice works? If so, come and quick-start your knowledge about your voice at one of our Vocal Technique and Performance Crash Courses. You will learn and apply the new knowledge right away. Most likely you will experience your own "wow-effect" and "aha-moment" right then and there! We'll go through the basics of healthy singing technique and also will perform a song in front of the group.

This is our agenda for the day:

• we'll learn how your voice works
We'll learn what registers we have in our voices and how to connect them thus eliminating any so-called break or bridge transition there might be.
• learn top exercises for an effective vocal warm-up
Yes, there are quite a few of these exercises that will awaken your voice and get it started even early in the morning. They are fun and effective exercises that will benefit you in future and will keep your voice healthy in a long run.
• lots of singing
You will sing a song or two in front of the group and we will briefly work on your song(s) to make sure you sound the best. Most auditions, including for bands, will want to hear you sing a'capella, that is, without accompaniment, therefore I'll love to hear you sing a'capella first, and then, if you have a playback track (or a chart with chords), we can do it like at a gig!

Sound exciting? You bet! Sign up for the next workshop and get started! Go to http://www.c-major-music.com/vocalcc.html and sign up today! Don't hesitate to call 917-499-5419 with any questions!

If you have been playing the same songs and have not been improving for a long time but feel the desire to there is a solution to consider...

It can be fixed with the right guitar teacher!!!!!

Are you beginner looking to start playing? Or are you intermediate or advanced looking for new ideas? Learning guitar can be frustrating and being stuck can be bad as well! I want to help break you out of these and get you going on your musical journey.
Consider these issues...
Many players have no idea what they are doing.
Many players feel they do not need to know the notes, chords or keys of the songs they are playing and this does not help you create better solos or chord voicing.
Relying on familiar shapes or playing the boxes limits you to going nowhere.
Why would you want to practice if it does not sound good to your ears?

If you are serious about "getting it together", serious about progressing on the guitar with a "goal" to learn songs correctly, put in the practice time needed, want to know "why" certain scales, arpeggios & solo patterns work, learn ways to get out of the "rut boxes". I CAN HELP YOU!!

I am a guitar teacher with 20+ years experience available for lessons in your home or mine.
Music Reading, theory, chords, scales as well as learning your favorite songs. Many styles including rock, blues, pop, folk, funk and some jazz and classical.
