Learn How To Play Drums From A Working Pro!

If you are curious about the drums and want to learn how to play them or if you already play and just want to improve your current drumming ability then I can help. I play, record, and perform fulltime here in NYC and I can certainly give you an inside view of how to get where you'd like to be.

I have more then 20 years of private and college teaching experience which include such universities as Marymount Manhattan College, The NYACK School of Music, and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Whether you are an aspiring professional or simply a recreational drummer a young person, student, or working adult, I can tailor each one-hour lesson at my private Downtown Brooklyn / DUMBO studio (or perhaps your preferred location) to exactly the areas you want to develop. I try to balance the fun of drumming with the necessary tools to help your musical growth. My rates are very reasonable so contact me to get started!

I play and teach all styles of drumming including Gospel, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Latin, Afro-Cuban, Pop, Punk, Brazilian, Samba, Bossa Nova, Funk, Hip Hop, Soul, Neo-Soul, R&B, Blues, Reggae, Dance Hall, One Drop, Rock Steady, Ska, Mento, Soca and Solo Drumming. I can teach you how to read and even show you how to play your favorite songs.

I have also performed at many churches some of which include Trinity Grace, Redeemer, The Journey, Infinity, Citilights, Emmanuel, and Grace Redeemer Church as well as performed for the Theater and Dance communities.

As a well versed recording studio and live drummer I have studied at both The Berklee College of Music where I received the prestigious Buddy Rich Jazz Masters Scholarship and at the University Of Miami where I was the recipient of the Bowman Ashe Scholarship for artistic and academic achievement.

I am Endorsed By & Deeply Grateful To: Vic Firth Drumsticks, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drum Heads, Brady Snare Drums, Audix Microphones, MOTU Electronics, Cympad, and RhythmTech Percussion. I am a member of BMI, The Harry Fox Agency, and The University Of Miami & Berklee College of Music Alumni Associations.

As a creative drummer I have been featured in many drumming magazines including Modern Drummer, DRUM! Magazine, Percfest, and The Black Page. I have released many offerings as both a leader and a sideman. I have performed live broadcasts on among others WPKN (Bridgeport), WXPN's (Philadelphia) "World Cafe", WDST's (Woodstock) "Sessions", toured the Middle East for the Armed Forces in support of our troops, and toured China & Egypt as part of a Jazz Cultural Exchange.
