Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager IV Job ID 50568 Location New York Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Schedule Details/Location This position is located in Brooklyn, NY. Job Duties Responsible for the sales, service, and retention of a portfolio of Commercial Markets Group&#039;s largest, most complex and highly profitable deposit and credit based commercial customers. Incumbents are responsible for new business development, portfolio management, credit quality, and overall relationship management of an assigned portfolio of commercial customers. Requires demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to function independently in the development and management of sophisticated customer accounts that meet Sovereign&#039;s lending requirements and maximize profitability while minimizing risk. Acts as mentor to Financial Analysts, Portfolio Managers and/or less experienced Relationship Managers. Builds and develops customer relationships to position Sovereign as the bank of choice. Cross-sells the Bank&#039;s commercial products and services to existing customers. Identifies, evaluates, structures and documents commercial credit transactions to ensure maximum profitability with reasonable risk. Interfaces with the investment banking community on commercial usiness transactions. Monitors credit quality within assigned portfolios and takes action as appropriate. Participates in joint calls with business partners to develop customer relationships and support specific product sales across business lines. Represents CMG in civic and community functions to further enhance Sovereign&#039;s image and develop expanded business. Serves as primary contact for new business development which focuses on the acquisition of the most complex and highly profitable commercial customers and is a significant contributor to the team&#039;s success. Works closely with the Managed Assets Division concerning relationships under management. Works with internal and external auditors and corporate compliance to ensure conformity with bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulations. Qualifications Education: Bachelors or Equivalent Experience - Between 10 and 15 Years Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience in commercial banking. Ability to mentor and develop a team. Ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships within and outside the bank. Full utilization of sales automation tools and related technologies. Superior knowledge of commercial banking products and services (both credit and non-credit), Sovereign Bank&#039;s Credit Policy and Procedures, competitor product lines and commercial compliance regulations. Superior knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan documentation and commercial loan collection activities. Superior sales, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of and experience with the investment banking community and its practices as it applies to middle market banking.
