Wanted: hospitable, highly organized, multi-tasking, & talented individual to help onefinestay take care of our guests and hosts. We’re their guardian angels, armed with local know-how and a passion for hospitality.

onefinestay is redefining the hospitality landscape in New York, as well as London, Paris and LA. We provide the opportunity for visitors of the city to stay in a piece of history: authentic cast iron Soho lofts, designer Brooklyn townhouses, and the odd West Village carriage house. You’ll be joining a young, thriving startup – we’ve been open in NYC since May of 2012. We’ve got plans to expand rapidly over the coming months and can’t wait to add your heroic powers to our operation. Take note, this job isn’t 9-5 – expect shift work, including weekends and holidays, on rotation.

People with a background in hospitality, retail, or any people-facing experience specifically encouraged.

Skills and experience required
‘Nice person’ written all over you
Some experience in a people-facing role
A sharp eye for detail
Sound judgement, even under pressure
No qualms about working early, late and on some weekends

What you’ll get
Early responsibility
Flexible and team-based working environment
Competitive salary and benefits
Career progression- we’re going places, and we need great people to help us get there
A vibrant and fun work environment with like-minded individuals
A funky open-plan office in Soho. Plus, weekly happy hour and a fully stocked kitchen

About Us:
Piccolo Cafe is an independently owned cafe with 4 locations and growing. Two old pals from Italy started Piccolo Cafe only 5 years ago, after spending the holiday selling their delicious organic, fire-roasted coffee at the Union Square Holiday market. They packed up all they could and relocated from Bologna, Italy to NYC. With them, they brought their coffee blend (originated in 1938) and the unique rustic decor they are so used to back home. Piccolo also has an extensive menu of authentic Italian fare including Home-made pasta dishes.

About the position:
Right now, we are looking for a friendly, out-going barista with at least 3 years' continous experience with coffee in an independent cafe environment. We need someone used to a casual environment that can handle the pressure during those busy moments of the day with ease; that treats the cafe as if it was their own. You must be able to work and handle a shift alone behind the counter, so multi tasking is critical. Basic knowledge on wine and beer is a plus as well as bartend experience. Be charming, smart, smiling, efficient in a busy environment, be able to take decision and act, feel like your own place.

Should Have:
* Full and flexible availability (including the up-coming holidays, mornings and evenings)
* Experience on manual coffee equipment i.e. grinder calibration, proper milk foaming techniques, espresso ristretto, proper tamping etc. We'd love a self-professed coffee nerd!
* NYS Food Hander's Certificate (if not, should be obtained shortly)
* Food service experience a plus
* Experience in a small business environment. We stress this because our shop is very different than the corporate chain cafe out there. We don't have a giant manual and a million rules. We count on everyone to make proper judgment and rely on them to make decisions based on what's best for the future of our cafe.
* Part Time and Full Time considered.

Please send me your resumes in the body of your response and write me a little note about your experiences and why this job is right for you!
We will host interviews friday afternoon starting from 4pm to 6pm. We will schedule an appointment with you to come after reviewing your resume.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope we can meet very soon!
