Job Title: Cook

Reports To: Soup Kitchen Supervisor

Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

Job Purpose: To prepare food and beverage for daily Continental Breakfast, Hot

Breakfast, and Hot Lunch for the Soup Kitchen.

Job Description:

- Insures food safety guidelines are followed.

Plans Menu in consultation with the Coordinator.
Prepares the meal (according to the menu), including the entre, vegetable(s)
and starch. Lunch is to be ready by 11:30 a.m.

Assigns tasks to cooking assistant and volunteers and supervises serving line.
Prepares food for the Take Out orders if needed.
Keeps the stove and all refrigerators and freezers clean and in order.

Short Term Disability

Vacation, Holiday, Personal Leave, Sick Leave:

Employee is entitled to 12 days paid PTO days, which includes sick leave, personal leave and vacation. In addition, there are 7 national holidays given.
If the Soup Kitchen is closed due to weather conditions, it shall be deemed a paid day.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting pots, pans, boxes and food items. Bending, reaching, stooping to gather food items.
Employment Requirements:

Employee must provide accurate contact information to supervisor,
Advise any changes promptly,
Call into supervisor each day before shift if unable to work and
Hand in timesheets each Monday by 9:00 a.m.
