Title Supv - Field Collections Cablevision Division Cable and Communications Operations Department Name Collections-NYC Job Location NY / Brooklyn Requisition ID 18126BR Position Type Full Time Description Maximize the external and internal customer experiences by providing leadership to the non-pay disconnect function in a multi-product environment. Directly assist the Manager of Field and Phone Collections in the management of field saves, converter recovery, and non-pay disconnects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide direction to the non-pay disconnect Collection Support staff in utilizing and analyzing cycle cutoffs and related information to maximize the selection and assignment of work to field collections and non-pay disconnect technicians. 2. Ensure the timely posting of payments and converters collected by field technicians, ensuring proper SOX controls are followed in accordance with Company policy and procedure. 3. Manages and controls the field collection process. . Understands and implements federal and state statutes including but not limited to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act to ensure compliance. . Oversees the timely submission and completion of all assigned paperwork to field technician personnel. . Works with local management to resolve issues. . Prepares, validates, and approves payment authorization form for processing. . Approves audit of external field technician paperwork submissions. 4. Directly manages the internal and external field collector staff. 5. Reviews and approves employee payroll. 6. Responsible for administrative tasks through use of appropriate company documentation, ensuring documentation is completed in a thorough and accurate manner. Responsible for informing other Cablevision departments of any and all issues that may extend beyond the position incumbent's current knowledge or skill level. 7. Responsible for meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis. Responsible for performing all work related tasks in compliance with all Cablevision policies and procedures. 8. Responsible for ensuring that all work related equipment is utilized and maintained in a safe and responsible manner. Responsible for ensuring all work related tasks are performed in a manner that is in compliance with OSHA safety rules and regulations. 9. Perform such duties as the position's manager may deem necessary. 10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY DUTIES Supervises the day-to-day operations of the department, is directly involved with and exercises independent judgment with respect to the following: 1. Interviews candidates for open positions and makes recommendations for hire, rehire, or promotions. 2. Reviews and approves employee schedules, which includes requested time off and ensures sufficient staffing levels through scheduling and assignment of overtime as needed. 3. Coaches and counsels employees in the area of conflict resolution with internal and external customers. 4. Makes initial determination regarding whether an employee under his/her direction and control should be counseled and/or disciplined and makes recommendations as to the nature of the discipline regarding the same, including the issues of corrective actions and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). 5. Assigns work to employees based on the specific skills, training, experience and availability of the individuals under his/her direction and control and ultimately is responsible for the completion of said assignments. 6. Assesses, prioritizes and alters work assignments of direct reports on a day-to-day basis as operational needs require. 7. As needed, conduct periodic meetings with direct reports to provide: training on proper techniques, services, and monthly progress reports. 8. Prepares, conducts, or gives input to performance evaluations for employees under his/her direction which is considered by the Company in determining annual merit increases. Qualifications 1. Four plus years collections experience in communications industry required 2. Four plus years vendor management experience required 3. Cablevision Billing System (CableData, CSG or IDA) knowledge required 4. Problem solving and conflict resolution skills 5. Good oral and written communication skills 6. Excellent listening skills and patience required 7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 8. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required 9. Working knowledge of computer skills, utilizing windows based software (Microsoft Word, Excel) 10. High School diploma or equivalent required
