Merchandise Planner (Director Level) to 130k - Recruitment Trends (New York, NY)

Large Retail corporation located near Suffren, NY needs: Merchandise Planner Director level - (Oracle/ JDA/ women's retail) We seek an individual with drive, with recent women’s specialty apparel merchandise planning experience. Requires high proficiency with Oracle, JDA or similar planning tool. In this position you will partner with the Buyer/Merchandise Manager to develop, implement, and manage to, plans that maximize the sales and profitability of a designated area. Responsibilities: • Establish pre-season sales and margin plans, together with the inventory levels required to support them • Analyze multiple seasons of historical performance to establish trends and opportunities • Develop detail plans from departmental goals that leverage opportunities and ensure that product strategies are achievable • Work with buyer to establish pre-market assortment strategies • In season, re-project sales and markdowns, and impact on margin • Recommend strategies that maximize the return on current inventory • Work with Buyer to identify “chase" opportunities, as well as risks in future on-order • Partner with the Allocation team to balance inventory and assortment across the stores • Maintain effective communication with internal business partners – buyers, distributers, as well as executive management • Create ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required to communicate issues and solutions to the management team Special Note: This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take on an entrepreneurial role within the company and implement a state of the art planning system. Requirements 5-10 years of Retail Merchandise Planning experience in a women's specialty apparel company required. Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills Thorough understanding of retail math. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Excel. Requires high proficiency with Oracle, JDA or similar planning tool.
