An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. - Leads the Sales and Use Tax Department by translating taxation, business, accounting, and financial expertise into company tax saving strategies; driving strategies through negotiation, appeals, litigation, reporting, and audits; overseeing the tax audit process to ensure compliance; directing alternative deal structure developments to reduce tax burdens; consulting with state and local revenue departments on business issues (for example, requests for technical advice, legislation recommendations); and overseeing financial system enhancements. - Oversees Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance processes for Sales and Use Tax - Serves as company's national sales and use tax expert and representative - Directs Sales and Use Tax processes (for example, reporting, controls, audits) by ensuring compliance with state and local tax reporting regulations; - Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs. - Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce - Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. - Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
2. Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge/exposure
3. 5-7 years of experience in finance or strategy role
4. Ability to create and deliver presentations to senior management
5. General understanding of key retail metrics
6. Understanding of strategic methods and approach
Additional Preferred Qualifications
1. Post-graduate degree 2. Financial Certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, etc.) 3. Technical expertise in GAAP/IFRS accounting and global audit, tax, and transfer pricing experience
4. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for global environment
5. Project/Program Management certification or equivalent
6. Process Improvement Certification or equivalent
