Zurich Insurance is currently looking for an Underwriter for Management Solutions team in our New York office. The ideal candidate will work in a team setting to underwrite and perform financial analysis for public companies within Zurich''s Management Solutions Group with specific focus on Directors & Officers, Fiduciary, Employment Practices Liability and Crime areas. Responsibilities Include: 1. Generating, underwriting and analyzing D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, E&O, Security & Privacy and Fidelity business. 2. Market facing and production within the Specialties Division. 3. Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules. 4. Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships. 5. Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments. 6. Responsible for working on accounts in the Western region. Job Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following: 1. Bachelor''s Degree Preferred. 2. 4+ years of Underwriting experience with D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, E&O, Security & Privacy and Fidelity preferred. 3. Strong broker relationships in the West Region. 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 5. In-depth knowledge of line/s of business and legal and regulatory guidelines. 6. Strong negotiation skills. 7. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines. 8. Ability to effectively assess risk. 9. Ability to multi-task. 10. Ability to function in a team environment. 11. Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business. 12. Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 13. Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions of increasing responsibility. 14. Solid knowledge of processing methods and workflow procedures, and basic knowledge of insurance underwriting and regulations for assigned territories. 15. Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business. 16. CPCU and ARM a plus.
