Position Description:

The Global Business Impact Specialist position will manage and coordinate the technical and domain oversight for the business impact practice within AIG Client Risk Solutions. The position manages two Regional Business Impact Specialist positions and the BI and Supply Chain Risk Analyst position within the Technical Hazards Team, Technical and Analytic Solutions. This position reports to the Global Technical Hazards Team Leader and manages the engineering and technical focus of business impact risk evaluation, assessment and consistency of technical guidelines and standards as applied by the field and account engineering teams within Property and Special Risk Engineering. The key responsibilities for this position include:

a) Support the Global Technical Hazards Team Leader in the design and development of new engineering procedures, guidelines, standards, client guidelines focused on the business impact and disaster recovery practice that are both specific to identified industry segments (Financial, Manufacturing, High Tech, Educational, Distribution, Retail, Energy, etc.) and in conformance with wider AIG Commercial Property and Client Risk Solutions guidelines and procedures

b) Provide technical support and field training as required to members of the BI Specialist Team related to business interruption assessment, business impact analysis, business continuity planning and client business continuity plan testing and facilitation.

c) Conduct business interruption evaluations, disaster recovery and business impact analysis surveys for CRS and AIG Commercial Property clients within operating protocol and guidelines established within the Global Technical Hazards Team. Conduct business interruption, business continuity planning support and training as required to support CRS clients and Underwriting requirements.

d) Manage the Regional Business Impact Specialists and BI/Supply Chain Risk Analyst to assure requests and planned business impact analysis support aligns with client needs and objectives for business continuity, including project time-line and assignment of BI Specialists from matrix Team.

e) Support the Global Technical Hazards Team Leader in the design and development of new engineering procedures, guidelines and standards focused on the business impact practice that are both specific to identified industry segments (Financial, Manufacturing, High Tech, Educational, Distribution, Retail, etc.) and in conformance with wider AIG Commercial Property and Client Risk Solutions guidelines and procedures.

f) Support the Global Technical Hazards Team Leader in the design, development and deployment of a CBI Supply Chain Risk Consulting service and eventual roll out of the AIG CRS CBI Visualization and Risk Assessment Tool. Manage the effort in this area by the BI/Supply Chain Risk Analyst.

f) Manage, develop and deploy technical domain training modules in the area of business impact for delivery to the Business Impact Specialist Team, field and account engineers, risk strategists, underwriters and trainees as required.

g) Oversee and manage the development of the Business Impact Loss Estimate Tool designed for use by members of the Business Impact Specialist Team, field and account engineers. Coordinate as required with developing resources within the Data Analytics, PSR Modeling and the CRS Innovations Teams to assure development of a consistent assessment approach utilizing existing models or platforms where available.

e) Actively managing the Business Impact Certification Program including training, oversight and auditing of field performance by BI Specialists and validation of program requirements toward certification, coordinating efforts with the Regional BIA Specialists.

f) Work with Regional Engineering Managers and Zonal Engineering Managers to coordinate client activity and complete underwriting and client reports on time and budget related to business impact analysis services.

g) Support the business interruption MFL certification requirements for the Field Engineering and Account Engineering MFL Certification Process in EMEA.

h) Drive consistency of business impact analyses and client service in Client Risk Solutions and Commercial Property BI portfolio. This will include delivery of training against identified training needs, use of consistent methodologies and reporting guideline conformance.

Position Requirements:

a) A minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting business impact and business interruption analysis with a preferred focus on manufacturing, logistics, retail, educational, and financial entities. Additional focus in energy occupancies from a business impact perspective is a plus.

b) Preferred 3 years experience in evaluating and providing support for the development of business continuity plans for commercial organizations. Demonstrated ability in the review and evaluation of business continuity plans (BCP).

c) A minimum of 7 years of advanced property insurance loss control with experience in evaluating the perils of fire, explosion, earthquake, tropical windstorm, flood, and business interruption assessment. More experienced professionals are preferred (10+ years). Candidates with less experience may be considered if they hold advanced degrees (Masters/Ph.D..) or formalized training and/or certification in loss prevention, business impact and natural catastrophe assessment.

d) Preferred 7 years experience in the assessment and quantification of business impact risk for commercial and energy occupancies including revenue stream identification, make-up capacity assessment, restoration and recovery evaluation and supply chain assessment.

e) Preferred professional designation or certification in the field of Business Continuity, Business Interruption and/or Disaster Recovery.

f) Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Project and OneNote. Development skills in html, xml and web-based programming, vba and database management skills is a plus.

g) Exceptional verbal communications and writing skills as well as strong presentation experience.
