Choka Lyme would like to warmly invite each and everyone to attend two of our charity events for 2014. On Sunday, November 16, 2014 we will be having our Choka Lyme's Canned Food Drive at 103-29 101st Street, Ozone Park in Queens from 12-4 p.m. We're asking the community to drive by and drop off canned foods and non-perishables to help families in the area who are hungry for the holidays and need our service. All the items wil be donated to OZP Church of the Nazarene, 128-03 Foch Boulevard, South Ozone Park, NY 11420. We also partnered with 5 other business in the Queens area as drop-off locations for those who can't come to the Sunday event. There will be cakes, cookies, coffee and tea available as well. Choka Lyme is endorsed by Island Harvest and SCO Family Of Services for this event.

Our second event is the Choka Lyme's 5th Annual Toy Drive that will take place at Club Jouvay at 147-02 Liberty Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11435 on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Admission is free and we're encouraging full family participation. The toys that are collected will be donated directly to the SCO Family Of Services. This event is also used to activate community relationships and build kinship with the people who serve alongside each other. There will be food, music, games, giveaways and festivities to honor the families that show support to Choka Lyme throughout the year.

Our tagline at Choka Lyme is, "Simple people doing simple things in a big way." Our mission is to help people activate their own power, work together and positively transform their communities. We carry out this mission through grassroots organizing, capacity building, and both traditional and non-traditional networks. Our focus is on the underserved women, children and families in New York and other nearby regions.
