Party 934 is a community radio station that broadcasts from all over the world. Each person on the air is located in a different part of the world, broadcasting live to the Internet. Currently, over one hundred on-air personalities host shows ranging from talk, hip hop, R&B, jazz, electronica, folk, blues, world, and much more.

We are looking for talented, personality-driven, forward-thinking on-air personalities who are interested in speaking about the issues they feel are important or playing the music they are passionate about. Since Party 934 is not a "formatted" radio station, personalities are afforded the opportunity to be as diverse as they'd like on the air. In fact, some of our programs feature multiple genres during their show, while others focus on one or two related genres. We encourage our personalities to be different and to engage their audience through their live radio program.

The responsibilities associated with this volunteer position is an interested in mass communications/radio and the programming and live presentation of an exciting, entertaining, and informative radio program.

As a community radio station, we feel all shows should be focused on the personality's community, wherever that be. Applicants should be familiar and comfortable with community events, meet and greets, parties, charitable organizations, etc.

A brief note about content restrictions: We do not permit the broadcasting of top 40 music as we feel our mainstream society perpetuates enough of that format. We also do not accept programs where vulgarity or profanity is used. More information about content restrictions will be discussed during the telephone interview.

Be advised that this is a remote/virtual opportunity - in other words, you are able to present your radio program from anywhere in the world, as long as you have reliable, high speed internet access. We will provide all necessary programs/software and training.

Please email Dan Butler, Program Director, at dan at party934 dot com for more information about this exciting opportunity!

Party 934 is a project of The Freeform Radio Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Today, imprisonment and incarceration have become a fundamental component of popular culture. The voices of prisoners today are being commandeered by corporate media. National Geographic and MSNBC, among others, have decided that American prisons are fascinating. Even TV chef Gordon Ramsay released a reality show in which he teaches prisoners how to cook. Incarcerated Voices provides prisoners an unfiltered voice that examines the reality of the American penal system.

Incarcerated Voices is an exploration into the circumstances and conditions of incarceration through the eyes, ears, and hearts of prisoners. We seek to foster insight into the prisoner's responses to broaden the general public's understanding of the prison population today. The intent is to give a voice to the voiceless.

The opportunity primarily will focus on prisoner contributions to the project. This once in a lifetime project provides an opportunity to get in to the thoughts and prospectives of this nation's incarcerated.

The goals of volunteers in this opportunity are to listen to and respect the stories and thus the dignity of persons who are incarcerated as well as others impacted by the penal system; to reflect on the spiritual journeys and realities of prisoners, victims, family members of victims and prisoners, and corrections officials; to examine our own attitudes toward those who are incarcerated as well as those victimized by crime; and to examine correctional treatment and its efficacy, as well as problems and programs pertinent to special populations.

Duties include:
- Reading and analyzing submissions sent to us by our incarcerated contributors.
- Broadcast preparation.
- Research, writing, and administrative tasks.
- Others as assigned.

This opportunity is remote (offsite/from home) in nature and will start immediately. Applicants can also apply to start in the Fall or Winter of 2014.

Please note this is a volunteer opportunity and all positions are unpaid in nature.
