Auditioning Workshop by David Triacca
5 Weeks $200 (+ $25 registration fee) Wednesdays 2PM-5PM from Nov. 11 until Dec. 16th Auditioning is an art unto itself. And, unfortunately, many good actors are never taught this art form. There are so many variables that make up a good audition. Being prepared, being relaxed, owning the material, feeling comfortable in your skin, the ability to have a dialogue about the script, being flexible enough to take direction, and the confidence of being yourself in this most unusual circumstance. This workshop is intended to help actors bridge the gap from the craft of acting to the business of getting a job. Regardless how reputable your training program, if you’re not taught how to execute your technique during the audition process, no one will know it’s there. Many well-trained actors do not know how to make specific choices for an audition. The actor locks up and forgets what they have learned, eventually giving up. This workshop will help free and empower the actor during the audition process. It will trigger one’s curiosity instead of one’s fear. The actor will come to the audition knowing how to activate material quickly and instinctively while making informed choices. You will be presented with many audition scenarios from prepared monologues to cold readings. The skills established in this workshop allow you to harness your personal powers of instinct, imagination, emotional truth and your own sense of reality. Once you realize that there is a balance of power between the actor and director, you might start looking forward to the next audition. You will also learn everything you need to know about the ins-and-outs of the entertainment industry, including headshots, resumes, callbacks and the different areas of employment. Interview required. Please contact us for more information and enrollment at: infonyc@bilingualacting.com 646-229-5241 • Location: Simple Studios 134 W 29th St. 2nd floor

We are currently seeking a few gifted and innovative, artists to add to our creative team. Maintaining our distinct brand and setting ourselves apart from the hundreds of other companies on the web who also offer painted backdrops, is CRUCIAL! Our backdrops are created from a "photographer's perspective". We do not create backdrops with faux finishes, street scenes, sunsets, roman column, star constellations, rolling hills, or anything that resembles a place where a photographer a simply visit, instead of hang up a fake scene behind his model(s). Nor do we use colors in an odd, distracting combination or the corny "brush stroke" type, backdrop (like the one used in all of our grade school pictures or Sears family portraits). PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS AD IF YOU DO NOT HAVE COLLEGE DEGREE WITH AN "ART" MAJOR, AND/OR HAVE NOT EXHIBITED YOUR WORK IN GALLERIES. ALL RESPONSES WITH NO LINK TO VIEW YOUR WORK ON A WEBSITE WILL BE IGNORED. All compensation is "commission based" at 50% of any rental or sale of the backdrop(s) you create. Each artist is an independent contractor. You will not be a Cloth Colour employee.
