Following their dazzling residency at MetLiveArts during the 2015-16 season-during which they performed all three of Brahms' string quartets by heart-the Chiara String Quartet, known for "highly virtuosic, edge-of-the-seat playing" (The Boston Globe), returns to The Met for an encore performance. The group is joined by three-time Grammy-nominated clarinetist Todd Palmer for Brahms' bittersweet and beautiful Clarinet Quintet. They'll also give the New York premiere of String Quartet No. 6, "Canticle," by award-winning American composer Pierre Jalbert, "an inspired composer. Everything he writes sounds inevitable" (Philadelphia Inquirer).
