I don't believe in that and make sure I give each student tools that they and I agree are what's needed to achieve genuine results. It takes more work and concentration but it yields better results. I really focus with nearly every one I work with on vowel consistency and voice placement (the right and best spots). When it comes to singing, I believe that effort and struggle are two very different things. Let's increase effort and reduce struggle together. Technique - The idea is to make sure that the student utilizes all of the tools supplied to them properly. To make sure that they are using the correct muscles in their playing as well as phrasing and dynamics.

Music Theory - Key signatures, counterpoint, modes, enharmonics, transposition, reading music which are all used in both classical and jazz among other styles to give the student a greater understanding of how music is constructed. This of course takes time but is well worth it and extremely important.

Ear Training - Developing the students inner hearing and inner pitch along with memorization skills and to be able to channel energy into their playing.

The main thing is to have fun while you are learning. I have experience teaching young children as well starting from preschool and the lessons are designed to walk them through step by step. I also teach adults beginner through advanced.

My name is Landon Knoblock, and I am a pianist and an educator.

If you are a parent, and you would like your child to learn to play the piano, we can do that. I currently teach over 25 children, ages 5 to 17. The most important thing about teaching children is keeping the lessons fun and interesting, while still having them make progress they can feel good about. I am very patient, I do not yell at children, and I do not get angry. A positive attitude is everything.

Piano lessons are a fun and exciting hobby. Whether it's an adolescent learning about music for the first time or an adult rediscovering their love for the piano, I am most interested in finding a fun and creative way to facilitate this process. For children, piano lessons can be a very rewarding endeavor. Music lessons can inspire self confidence and a sense of achievement, as well as improve a child's skill in math and reading. But most importantly, it can be a lot of fun.

If you are a beginner, I can help you learn the basic skills needed to play the instrument. You can learn jazz piano, rock and pop piano, musical theater, learn how to compose. You can learn how to read music, improve your sight reading, music fundamentals, theory. And you can learn your favorite songs off your ipod.

I have been teaching for over 8 years; I hold a BM in Jazz Piano and an MM in Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Miami. I want piano lessons to be fun for you. I don’t get angry, and I am very patient.
